Things You Didn’t Know About Pavers From a Top Rated Pavers Contractor
As a top rated pavers contractor, we are an expert at installing patio pavers, walkway pavers and pavers driveways among others. Paving stones are beautiful and durable, making them an excellent solution for all of your outdoor spaces. Most people are aware of how they can enhance their landscape, but there are a few things that only pavers aficionados are aware of.
Here is what you may not know about paving stones:
They are earthquake resistant. Patio pavers are secured in place by setting them on a compacted gravel base and using a sand filler in between the stones. When the earth moves, the pavers move with it because they are not one solid piece. This makes them earthquake resistant as compared with a concrete driveway or patio that cannot move and is likely to crack in an earthquake.
They can support a fire truck. Sure this is a weird fact, but we tested it. We had a fire truck drive onto our pavers driveways, and none of the paving stones were damaged. If our driveways can support this much weight, they can certainly support your cars and trucks for years to come.
You can use them around a tree. If the tree is established, the roots will be far undergrounds and able to suck up water from established sources. In this case, building up pavers around the tree will not hurt it.
They are cooler than concrete. When looking at a solution for your pool deck, paving stones are a cool option. When looking at pavers vs concrete, pavers are cooler because they are individual pieces instead of a solid sheet that can capture and retain more heat.
Walkway pavers can save you money. Paving stones are a more durable solution than cement or brick. They will not crack or break during an earthquake and will look beautiful for years to come. If one does become damaged, it can be replaced individually instead of as a group. This will save you significant money down the road and makes the long-term driveways cost less than when using a different material.
They are easy to clean. You can typically clean patio pavers using a broom and water. If there are any stains, you can create a simple cleaning solution of water and dish soap then use it to scrub away any stains that you may have.
Paver sealer can refresh their appearance. You can apply pavers sealer every year or every other year in order to keep your paving stones looking fresh and new. We can do this for you as part of our maintenance contract. It often eliminates the need to replace the paving stones by making them look new, clean and bright. Once placed, it will also be easier to clean them since only water will be needed.
