How Are Pavers Manufactured
Our customers are always curious – they want to know, how are pavers manufactured? They also want to know about different paving stone designs. They ask about how we do paver installation. Sometimes they are curious about how different pavers have different styles, like those found in our tumbled pavers.
The video features Bill Warren, Belgard CBO and Anchor Sales Representative, as he explains why and how Belgard has become the #1 Producer of Hardscapes in the World. According to Warren, it’s all about Belgard’s commitment to quality. Explaining that they only use the highest quality ingredients in the manufacture of Paving Stones, Warren shares that the quality begins with the best aggregate mix of sand, rock and the highest quality cement available.
Each of these products are transferred on a conveyor belt to a silo where they are molded using a “shoe” and the process is similar to using a cookie cutter to make baked goods. The shoe provides a tight surface texture and the ratio of water to cement mixture provides the highest strength possible, delivering the best surface available to each paver. From there the pavers are transported to a kiln for up to 24 hours to dry.
Finally the pavers are examined and some batches are chosen to become tumbled pavers. Belgard tumbled pavers are each manually created, resulting in higher workmanship, individuality and heightened quality assurance. Go Pavers is an authorized Belgard pavers installer and has passed stringent tests, training and quality inspections to receive that title and designation.
