We gave information on the various types of paving stones. Here is a recap for our blog readers.
Textured Paving Stones
Textured pavers are refined and sophisticated. They look like they were custom made for your home and appear to be very expensive. If you are looking to bring glamour to your outdoor spaces, textured pavers are an ideal solution. From a practical standpoint they are an excellent choice for the area around your pool deck. The textured surface is easier for wet feet to grip and can keep children from slipping while they happily run around the pool and jump in for a classic cannonball. Any areas that frequently get wet are best served by textured pavers and our Angie’s list customers have been pleased with the results.
Classic, smooth pavers can be used in your driveway, patio, walkway, steps and more. This classic look goes well with colonial style homes or are a compliment to minimalist exteriors. You can have them installed in one solid color for a cohesive look or create patterns with complimentary shades.
Tumbled paving stones are the most popular and you will typically see them at the hardware or home improvement store. They look older, natural, and aged because they go through a process that softens the sharp edges. They can also look like the edges were broken or chipped that ads to their historic look and feel. Tumbled paving stones look excellent in a garden or walkway. Our Angie’s List customers have used these pavers for their patios as well. You just need to consider how you are using the area and if small children will be playing on your paving stones. If you have young children we recommend textured pavers over tumbled ones.
We offer free consultations where you can ask our design experts or project managers any questions that you may have. They are certified by ICPI and able to give you advice on which paving stones are best suited for your particular project.
